V1
I hope that you can see me now, and that you’re proud of me
In everything I do or say, you are a part of me
I wish I had the chance to tell you, what I had done all day
I know you’d listen carefully, to all I had to say
V2
I thank you for the life you gave me, you’re with me everyday
And though we never got to meet, I miss you more each day
I see your pictures on the wall, I hear the stories told
Of happy times and family . . . You know I’m 9 years old!
Chorus
We never met, and yet I know you
And where I go, I know I feel you
And you should know, how much I miss you
And I regret . . . we never met
(Last chorus repeat last line as : And I love you, though we never met!)
V3
I guess that God had other plans, you left us all too soon
Just know I think of you each night, while praying in my room
The gifts you gave me I can feel, although I can’t repay
Your face in mine I always see, I thank the Lord each day
V4
We never met but I won’t forget, you live within me still
And in my heart you stay by me, I know you always will
My wish is I can grow to be, a man who’s just like you
And Grandpa there’s one thing I know, I know you miss me too
