You took me as I am my Friend, I am thankful for Your love

I have always had respect for who You are

Such love for which You’ve always longed, all along it’s been so clear

For the record I am always here . . .

For the record if You even care, I could never love You more

And I hope You never ever disappear

There’s a struggle in my heart, please don’t forget me, it’s my fear

For the record do You even know I’m here?

For the record I’m a breath away, isn’t that what love is for?

For the record I will love You all my years

For the record I will never leave, even though you are not near

For the record I will always dry your tears

For the record you are not alone, there’s a race still to be run

From whatever path you’ve chosen now to roam

For the record God you’re with me still, and I only ever seek Your will

You are always there to gently bring me home

For the record You will always care, beautiful beyond compare

For the record it’s a heart we both can share

And if ever you call out my name, I’ll come running, that will never change

For the record yes, You are my answered prayer

For the record I don’t understand how You ever even loved this man

As I look out it’s so hard to see the plan

For the record just where do I start, and without You I will fall apart

For the record You still always have my heart

For the record I won’t go away, and your heart will live another day

And I know the love we share is always true

For the record as my heart still beats, what we have it never will repeat
